Icy Crystal Lab

Privacy Policy

Icy Crystal Lab is a single-player puzzle game that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with information. Last updated 9 September 2026.

The short version

We collect nothing. There is no account, no analytics SDK, no advertising, no tracking and no server. Every record the game keeps stays in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad, and is deleted when you delete the app.

Who we are

Icy Crystal Lab is published as a paid-for-free, ad-free iOS game. The developer is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR, but in practice holds no personal data at all, because none is transmitted off your device.

What the app stores on your device

These records live in the app's Application Support directory and in UserDefaults. They are not readable by other apps, and they are never uploaded.

Camera and photo library

The camera and photo library are used for exactly one feature: building a field core from a picture. When you tap Use the field camera or Choose from photos, iOS asks your permission. The app reads the picture, measures its average luminance, contrast and dominant hue, and uses those numbers as a seed for a generated slab. A downscaled copy is saved so the core can be shown again later.

Photographs are never uploaded, never shared and never sent to any third party. Deleting a field core deletes its stored copy. You can revoke camera or photo access at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the game keeps working.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification at the time you pick. It is generated and delivered by iOS on your device. No push server is involved and no device token is created or transmitted.

What the app never does

Required-reason APIs

Apple asks developers to declare certain APIs. Icy Crystal Lab declares two, in the privacy manifest bundled with the app:

API categoryReason codeWhy
User defaultsCA92.1Storing this app's own settings on this device.
File timestampC617.1Reading the archive file's modification date to show when it was last written.

NSPrivacyTracking is false, the tracking-domains list is empty, and the collected-data-types list is empty.

Children

The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It contains no advertising, no purchases and no communication features.

Your rights and your control

Because nothing leaves your device, there is no remote copy of your data to access, correct, export or erase. You are in full control locally: Settings › Archive › Clear the station archive erases every record described above, including saved field-core photographs. Deleting the app removes everything as well.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version ships inside the app update and the date at the top of this page changes with it.
